Test your recall with this week’s Los Angeles Times News Quiz

Welcome to the Los Angeles Times News Quiz where Olympic fever is in full swing. I could easily have made all 10 of this week’s multiple-choice, riffed-from-the-headlines questions about the spectacle on the Seine and all that’s happened since, but there are plenty of other quiz-worthy topics to tackle.

So I kept it to just two: one about Team USA men’s basketball opening game and the other about the bespectacled gymnast from Worcester, Mass., who went viral for all the right reasons. (If you still haven’t had your fill of the five-ring circus, head over to L.A. Times Sports for full coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics — after you’ve played the quiz, of course.)

We visited more than 200 miles of coastline, picking through hundreds of beaches to name the 50 best from San Diego to Santa Barbara. We prioritized ease of use and special amenities — like volleyball courts, camping, surf conditions and views.

This week’s quiz is also bringing the heat, both the box-office kind (a little movie called “Deadpool & Wolverine” has been lighting the multiplex on fire in case didn’t notice) and the spicy kind (there’s a lawsuit involving a certain fiery snack food). So, if you’re ready to have some fun, let’s get started.
